I want my viewers to think, to pause and reflect on the work, and I give them space to ponder. Objects that are still are not static, they are constantly breathing in the world and breathing out energy that fills the space. The energy and spirit of the encounter permeates through the margins and emptiness. The viewers then interact and contribute to that energy, letting it in as it resonates through them. The void breathes and stares into you and you stare back into it.

Our recognition of life’s futility and our stubborn desire to live in spite of it is a uniquely human emotion and tension that cannot be taken away from us. In our constant existential struggle for meaning we are also constantly creating and producing value within our subjective and the objective. When technology has made many aspects of art obsolete, the only thing left to depict is  our very humanity (quality of being human). The struggles, emotional tension, and desires (thus, concepts and philosophy) behind each work that reflect the unique umwelt of another being must be emphasized in art. I present art as a medium for laying out the system of my philosophy on nothingness as well as a form of laying direct inquiry into the world and self. Each work of art then becomes a part of my thesis for life.

In this age of digital reproduction and generative AI, art has been moving towards something to be read and experienced as an encounter between the work, viewer, and idea rather than to be simply seen.
